AI & Data Traineeship

A traineeship with Ormit Talent at Buildwise is not just a job. It’s a paid two-year program where you’ll rotate through three challenging assignments that get progressively more complex. We shape leaders who want to challenge the status quo by focussing on self-development first.

Your future job

At Buildwise, you’ll have a real-life impact on Belgium’s construction industry. Every project will push you to apply AI in ways that matter, both to Buildwise and the industry, and to your growth.

Here’s what makes this traineeship not just another traineeship:  

Being at the forefront of innovation: In one assignment, you might design AI-driven tools that use real-time data from drones to track construction site progress. Or perhaps you’ll develop chatbots for contractors, automating repetitive tasks and speeding up client response times.

A tight-knit community of industry experts, tech coaches, and fellow trainees: You’ll work closely with AI experts who live and breathe data and AI. 

Getting to work in an AI playground and spreading the love: AI is not just a buzzword at BuildwiseIt’s the tool you’ll use every day. Your enthusiasm for AI should be contagious, fuelling innovation within the company

Real-life projects with impact you can explain: The kind of work that might even get your grandparents nodding in understanding.

Getting hands-on experience: You’ll work across departments, get exposure to the entire ecosystem of construction and AI applications and work directly with Buildwise members.

Not able to check all the boxes? No problem. If you have a strong interest in data or AI and are eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.  

A growth mindset

Yes, we start with this one. Because you can’t know everything already. Curiosity and willingness to learn is what matters most.

A master or bachelor in data, AI or computer science

providing you with a solid foundation in statistics. Knowing your way around machine learning, generative AI, Computer vision, robotics, or data analysis, that’s a plus. 

Advanced knowledge in Python

This is a must. Familiarity with visualisation tools such as PowerBI, SQL, … are a plus!

Multilingualism

You’re fluent in either Dutch or French and have an A2 level in the other with a willingness to improve. Why? Because communicating with your colleagues will be key for your challenges. The Ormit Talent training sessions are in English.  

An empathic inspirator and problem solver

You need to be cool with working solo when needed, but also thrive in collabs across departments. You don’t just have technical skills, but can also connect with others and inspire them to embrace AI and data.

Buildwise is the Belgian innovation centre of the construction sector. They do scientific and technical research for the benefit of their members, supply technical information, assistance and advice. These members are the more than 110,000 Belgian construction companies like general contractors, carpenters, glaziers, plumbers, roofers, floorers, plasterers, painters …

We’d like to see you in action. That’s why we invite you to an online mystery game with other candidates. Afterward, you’ll dive into a capacity test to measure your numerical, verbal, and abstract reasoning.

Next up, a visit to Buildwise! Show off your data & AI skills in a case, share more about yourself in an interview, and take part in a roleplay. A day full of feedback, learning, and insights. Lunch is on us!
