Transformation Program
with NN Insurance

You think insurance isn’t sexy? It’s about to be.

The insurance sector has some catching up to do, and NN won’t pretend otherwise. For most people, insurance is still something you deal with once or twice in a lifetime: a contract you sign and forget.

But that’s changing fast. People now expect insurance to be as smart, digital and personal as everything else in their lives. So NN is transforming how it works, using data and AI to move from a contract you forget to something that actually helps when it matters.

And that’s where you come in. Young talent that isn’t afraid to shake things up.

Sounds a little sexier already, doesn’t it?

NN has a lot to change, and not enough people who can make that happen. With a clear ambition to grow into a top-five player, they need a new generation of hands-on changemakers: people who make NN’s processes simpler, faster and smarter, while taking others along in the change.

So we partnered up and designed a traineeship that develops exactly that: young talent with a transversal view of the organisation, who learn to spot inefficiencies and turn them into tangible improvements across departments.

Here’s how.

By rotating through the business.

Three rotations of eight months. Two years in total. Every assignment stretches your impact and responsibilities a little further. And you get to see NN from three different angles, one department at a time.

Step by step

01

Contribute to improvement

You take on a concrete improvement challenge in your first department, and get to grips with how NN actually works: the priorities, the stakeholders, the pain points, where things get stuck. You challenge the way things are done with curiosity, data and business sense, and turn what you find into action. By the end, you’ve delivered visible improvements and built your first real network.

02

Mobilise change

Now you take on something with more at stake: a change initiative that touches several teams and ways of working. You take ownership, align people around a shared direction, and coordinate the moving parts to keep momentum. This is where you learn to bring people along, because the win isn’t just a better process, it’s people who understand it, commit to it, and actually use it.

03

Drive transformation

Your last assignment is the biggest. You experiment with leading a transformation workstream end to end, mobilising stakeholders across departments, and deliver measurable impact that outlasts your time on it. By now you’re not asking permission to make things happen. You’re leading it. With of course still some support in the back.

Department by department

Finance

The engine room of numbers, reporting and forecasting. Here you’ll work on things like turning scattered financial data into something leadership can actually read, or using data to spot patterns in reporting that no one had time to chase. If you like seeing how the money actually moves, this is where it clicks.

Center Of Excellence

Where the data and AI capability is being built. You’ll sit close to the teams shaping NN’s tools and systems, working on use cases like predictive maintenance on processes, or building something that turns a manual, repetitive task into an automated one. Not writing the code yourself, but making sure it solves the right business problem.

Customer Experience

Where the business meets the customer. Here you’ll work on things like turning customer feedback and service data into a smarter way of responding, or helping a team use data to understand what customers actually need. The department where change is most visible, because people feel it.

What our trainees worked on

Florine – Process redesigner

Project – Finance

Flip back

I stepped into a finance team working flat out, but still stuck in manual invoices, expenses and onboarding, with all the errors and delays that came with it. The fix wasn't more hands. It was a better process. So I redesigned how the work flowed end to end, and brought in data and AI to steer it instead of chasing it.

The result? A team that spends less time firefighting and more time in control.

Milo – Power Platform Consultant

I helped colleagues build their own apps in the Power Platform, starting with my own project: replacing the timesheet management tool. I mapped and maintained the overview of every non-IT tool across NN, kept the data governance in check, and ran App in a Day sessions to get more people building.

The result? Good ideas turned into working tools fast, without piling up technical debt.

Anna – AI Project Lead

I ran two to three AI use cases from first idea to delivery, and made sure they actually landed in the business. I didn't write the code. I made sure each one solved a real problem, built the business case, and proved the benefit. Then I handed it over, so the team owned it instead of me.

The result? AI that people use every day, and colleagues who feel it's theirs.

Reporting was full of manual steps, and every team had its own version of it. So I mapped how the reporting actually flowed, spotted the steps we could simplify or automate, and helped bring in tools people would actually use. Then I built clear documentation and one shared format, so teams stopped working from different numbers.

The result? Reporting people trust, and updates everyone can follow.

It's the right fit if...

It's the right fit if...

  • A master's degree. Ideally business or data-oriented, or an equivalent level gained through experience or life.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience.
  • Language: NL or FR at C2, plus English at C1. You're willing to sharpen your second national language during the traineeship.
  • Affinity with AI, data and business. You'll need the business sense to see what matters, the curiosity to dig into the data, and to be at ease with figures.

What you’ll get

By now the big stuff should be clear: two years of coaching and training from Ormit Talent,… And yes, all of it paid for.

  • From €2.500 gross monthly salary, more if you bring experience. Holiday pay and 13th month on top. And after a year, a higher salary or extra vacation days.
  • A €475/month mobility budget. Plus, an office close to public transport. No traffic frustrations in this job.
  • €25K worth of coaching and training from Ormit Talent. Yes, that’s the value of what we put in. Not what you pay.
  • €100 net allowance for your work-from-home days.
  • A mobile phone and subscription.
  • A €200 wellbeing budget per traineeship. Spend it on therapy, a yoga membership, or whatever keeps you sane.
  • A €465 language budget for Dutch or French lessons. Belgium being Belgium.
  • The other essentials: meal vouchers, eco vouchers, hospitalisation insurance, pension savings.

And after the two years? You’ll be ready to step into NN as a full-on transformation agent: someone who knows the organisation, drives change with confidence, and had the network to make it happen. From there, new opportunities open up across NN.

Just ask Flor, who’s now team lead in the finance team.
